Problem Statement:

The performance of small businesses plays a crucial role in the economic growth and development of a region. In Morogoro region, Tanzania, small businesses are vital for employment generation, poverty alleviation, and improvement in the well-being of the local communities. However, various factors influence the performance of small businesses in this region, resulting in a disparity in their success rates. This research aims to investigate the determining factors influencing the performance of small businesses in Morogoro region to identify the challenges they face and provide recommendations to stakeholders for improving the situation.
