D. Inductive reasoning. Francis Bacon believed that scientists should rely on inductive reasoning to explain the laws of nature. In other words, they should use observations and experiments to gather data and then draw general conclusions based on that evidence. He argued that this was a more reliable method than relying on traditional authorities or preconceived notions.
