200 years ago, the United States would have looked much different from space. The country would have been much less populated, with fewer cities and towns. The landscape would have been dominated by forests, grasslands, and wetlands, with only a few small settlements scattered across the continent. The eastern seaboard would have been the most developed, with larger cities such as Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. The western half of the country would have been much less populated, with only a few small towns and trading posts.
