President Wilson's goals at Versailles differed from those of other leaders in that he wanted to create a lasting peace through the establishment of the League of Nations. He also wanted to ensure that all nations had the right to self-determination and that all nations should be treated equally. Other leaders at Versailles were more focused on punishing Germany and restoring the balance of power in Europe.
