How many countries don't have volcanoes?

There are approximately 40 countries that do not have any active or dormant volcanoes.

To determine the number of countries that don't have volcanoes, you would need access to information on all countries and their geographical features. Here is how you can find the answer:

1. Start by compiling a list of all the countries in the world. There are multiple sources available online, such as government websites or reputable databases, that provide a complete list of countries.

2. Once you have the list, you can proceed to research the presence of volcanoes in each country. There are several resources available, such as geological surveys, volcano databases, or encyclopedia websites that provide information on volcanic activity and distribution.

3. Search for each country individually to find out if it has any active, dormant, or extinct volcanoes. Active volcanoes are those that have erupted recently or shown signs of volcanic activity, while dormant volcanoes are currently inactive but may erupt in the future. Extinct volcanoes are those that are not expected to erupt again.

4. As you go through the list, keep a tally of countries that do have volcanoes and those that don't. Once you have gone through all the countries, you can calculate the number of countries without volcanoes by subtracting the number of countries with volcanoes from the total number of countries.

However, it's worth noting that this information might change over time due to volcanic activity, new discoveries, or changes in dormant or extinct statuses. Therefore, it's advisable to consult up-to-date sources or expert opinions for accurate and current information.

As of my knowledge, there are 195 countries in the world, including 193 United Nations member states and 2 observer states (the Holy See and Palestine). However, it is difficult to provide an exact number of countries that don't have volcanoes, as volcanic activity can change over time and new discoveries can be made. Nevertheless, about 61 countries have active volcanoes, leaving approximately 134 countries that may not have active or dormant volcanoes. Please note that this number is an estimate and may not be entirely accurate due to the dynamic nature of volcanic activity.
