Explain the difference in opinions that De leon and Massanet had about the military presence at the missions.

De Leon and Massanet differed over the number of the military contingent at San Francisco California de Los Tejas. De León wanted to post 750 soldiers there to control the local Nabedache Indians, but Massanet would accept only five of them. Massanet thought the friars could protect the mission, the local natives and the nuns. The bells there were famous and were ringing to bring in more natives and nuns.
