Which describes the geocentric model of the solar system?

a model in which Earth is at the center of the solar system

a model in which Mercury is at the center of the solar system

a model in which Jupiter is at the center of the solar system

a model in which the Sun is at the center of the solar system*

In 1543, a model of the solar system was published that put the Sun in the center of the solar system, and demoted Earth to just another planet. This model was proposed by which astronomer?

Ptolemy

Galileo*

Aristotle

Copernicus

Which describes the heliocentric model of the solar system?(1 point)

a model in which the Sun is at the center of the solar system

a model in which Earth is at the center of the solar system

a model in which Venus is at the center of the solar system

a model in which Mars is at the center of the solar system

Which is a correct statement about the development of Copernicus's model after his death?

Galileo disproved the model.

His model was not accepted until many years later.

His model was immediately accepted enthusiastically by his peers.

Copernicus was nominated for an early Nobel prize for Astronomy.

plz help

Jonathon's answer are all correct besides #1. I took the quick check and the answer was "a model in which Earth is at the center of the solar system"

keep in mind this may vary for other schools this is what worked for mine.

dont listen to "Ranboo". johnathon's answers are all correct :-)

Johnathon is right but #1 is the placement of the EARTH at the center of the solar system

From Internet:

Geocentric: having or representing the earth as the center, as in former astronomical systems.

Heliocentric: having or representing the sun as the center, as in the accepted astronomical model of the solar system.

Copernican heliocentrism is the name given to the astronomical model developed by Nicolaus Copernicus and published in 1543. This model positioned the Sun at the center of the Universe, motionless, with Earth and the other planets orbiting around it in circular paths, modified by epicycles, and at uniform speeds.

Others rejected the thought of mathematical physics, unable to foresee that Copernicus’ theory would change the field of physics back then critically. Theologians rejected the new world view because in some places it contradicted the Bible.
