Generate a visually appealing image of a two-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system, with x and y-axes labeled. On this system, sketch two distinct lines representing the equations y = -x + 4 and y = 1/3x + 8. The first line should slope downward while the second should slope upward, intersecting at a solution point. Ensure there is no written text within the image.

which graph represents the solution to the given system y =-x+4 y = 1/3x + 8

Please help me..

Luna Luna answered

I did, but I'm not really good at this and I asked my mom but, she's busy.... I looked in my math book but, I got no help

Try harder then!

We can't see your graphs.

Luna Luna answered

Can someone just break it down for me? So, I can learn from it and not just get a answer

Reiny Reiny answered

which graph ??

Luna Luna answered

One graph is (-3, 7) the other is (0, 8) the other is (3,7) and the last on is (0, 4)

Reiny Reiny answered

You must know the properties of lines written in the form y = mx + b

m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept

so for y = -x + 4
that line should have a slope of -1, it should lean to the left making an
angle of 45ยฐ with the x-axis
it will have a y-intercept of 4

do the same with the other line, it should have a slope of 1/3
look for a line with has a rise of 1 and run of 4
It will have a y-intercept of 8.

Look for such a graph in your test, worksheet, book or ....

I need the answers too, but nobody posts the answers for math unit tests. if they do, the test is altered. What a life.... not being able to cheat

as of January, 2023, here are the answers for the Systems of Inequalities Unit test (Unit 7, lesson 8)

I'm pretty sure the answers are in a different place for every person, so I put the answer it was on for me, then a description of the answer

1) (A) or the one with the intersection(point) labeled (-3,7)
2) (B) or the one with the intersection(point) labeled (-3,-8)
3) (C) or the one that says "Infinitely many"
4) (D) or the one that says "None"
5) (C) or the one that says "Infinitely many"
6) (D) or the one that says "None"
7) (B) or the one that is shaded on the right side from the point (3,0)
8) (B) or the one that is shaded below the point (0,-2)
9) (A) or the one that is a small shaded right triangle
10) (B) or the one that says "3 months"
11) (A) or the one that says ".50 per cookie, 1.25 per brownie"
12) (B) or the graph that says "No solutions" under it
13) (B) or the graph that says "Infinitely many solutions" under it
14) (B) or the one that's says (-2.5,-7)
15) (D) or the one that says (5,1)
16) (B) or the one that say "750 T-shirts"
17) (B) or the that says " 28 mL of 5%, and 14 mL of the 65%"
18) (B) or the one that is shaded on the right side and goes through -4
19) (C) or the one that is shaded above and to the left more
20) (A) or the one that is shaded above and has a y intercept of 20
21) (B) or the one that is shaded in-between the bottom crossing area
22) (D) or the one that is shaded to the left of the X
23) (D) or the one that says "y<=x+8 and y>=-3x-8"

Goodluck, if your test doesn't match mine, just use Desmos, it got me through like 90% of these questions
