The radius of a cylinder is 3.5 ft. The height is 14 ft. Find the surface area and volume of the cylinder to the nearest tenth of a foot.

I think the volume is 538.51 in^3.

I just don't know the SA. Is it, possibly, 164.85 in^2. Or, no where closer than that answer?

IM RIGHT

Given:
radius : 3.5 ft
height : 14 ft

Surface Area of a cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr²
S.A. = 2 * 3.14 * 3.5ft * 14ft + 2 * 3.14 * (3.5ft)²
S.A. = 307.72ft² + 2 * 3.14 12.25ft²
S.A. = 307.72ft² + 76.93ft²
S.A. = 384.65 ft²

Volume of a cylinder = πr²h
V = 3.14 * (3.5ft)² * 14ft
V = 3.14 * 12.25ft² * 14ft
V = 538.51 ft³

I just need a SIMPLE version of the formula to I can do the math with out getting a headache. That literally all I want.

Given:

radius : 3.5 ft
height : 14 ft

Surface Area of a cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr²
S.A. = 2 * 3.14 * 3.5ft * 14ft + 2 * 3.14 * (3.5ft)²
S.A. = 307.72ft² + 2 * 3.14 12.25ft²
S.A. = 307.72ft² + 76.93ft²
S.A. = 384.65 ft²

Volume of a cylinder = πr²h
V = 3.14 * (3.5ft)² * 14ft
V = 3.14 * 12.25ft² * 14ft
V = 538.51 ft³

I hope this helps it took me a bit to get this but try to change it up a bit

ok this is kinda hard but i have the answers

the surface area of
the cylinder is
384.85 and the
volume is 528.51

what???????? I don't understand anything yall just threw at me :(((

Can somebody help somebody help simplify this..? Please?

Thanks Mystical

So what is the answer?

WHAT IS THE ANSWER!!!!!

ok the dude tha said i hope this helps on the bottom is a freakingc copy and paster the dude above gave it and now he cpoied and pasted it bruh u gotta stop

guys just solve this its easy then you get your answer.

A=2(3.14 x 3.5 x 14) + 2(3.15 x 3.5^2)

it’s not funny what’s the flipping answer guys

What the answer I'm confusion-

and @k take a chill pill

Area simplified

2x3.14x3.5x14=307.72
12.25x3.14x2=76.93
307.72x76.93=384.65
Volume simplified
3.5x2=12.25
12.25x3.14x14=538.51

@BRO ok now this is big brain lul

100% 5head

Pls just explain the problem

wait @Science Test Pls Help, why are you on a math quiz?

this is chaos lmao-

it has not been graded yet so sry is its not right

Sorry

307.72+76.93=384.65

I’m confused I need help

U-U ya know you've got a point there ╮(╯-╰)╭ @Science Test Pls Help why u here.... (⊙_⊙)?

also i will post my answer (that i did on my OWN and not some brainy copy and paste) after i finish :D

So what's the answer I need to check mine I know mine's completely wrong I need serious help with this.

for Mystical's answers what does the 12.15 mean

bruh no answer?

meow its 2022 and we arent idiots lets help each other

help

I ate chicken sandwich

Hi,:/ give me answer or i use frost breath.

;-;

I can simplify the answer to volume, but I'm having trouble with the surface area still. Sorry!

Since the formula for volume is V=𝜋r^2h, the formula for this problem would be: V = (3.14)(3.5)^2 (14)
This would equal 538.51, which rounds to 539 ft.^3.
Hope I could help!

@IsabellaDuran is right if all you guys wanna do is spam why should she tell you guys 😂

dudes the answer is on the top of this page

and also i agree with everyone too stop the spammers

IM RIGHT

S.A. = 307.72ft² + 76.93ft²

V = 3.14 * 12.25ft² * 14ft
V = 538.51 ft³

migger

Stop spamming, it annoys me.

I know the answer but all you guys wanna do is spam so figure it out yourself

2πrh+2πr2=2·π·3.5·14+2·π·3.52≈384.8451ft²

dummies that's not what I am lookin' for I am supposed to be lookin' for thee volume, idiots

You guys are no scope 360 Smolbrain moment

The top people tell the answer, but use a formula from you lesson!

*flaps wings nervously*

For the volume I got 538.8 ft^3 to the nearest tenth of a foot.

(you should really use a better value for π than 3.14, most calculators have it built in correct to 10 decimals)

Your SA is made up of 2 circles + a rectangle
SA = 2π(3.5)^2 + 2π(3.5) = 384.8 ft^2
