so!! since 3/4 and -11/4 have the same denom, we can add the numerators! 3 + -11 = -8, which gives us -8/4. -8 over 4 equals to -2. in all,, 3/4 + -11/4 = -2. (did i get here before the bot?) - random speck of dust
..you sure 'bout that,, bot? first we'd wanna find the lcm (least common denominator). that'd be 8! so 1 x 1 = 1, 8 x 1.. etc. now for 1/2. 1 x 4 = 4, 2 x 4 = 8. 1/8 + 4/8 = 5/8. you were close bot, but i think you forgot to add them together.. - random
