The time it takes for the older sibling to catch up to the younger sibling can be calculated using the formula:
Distance = Speed * Time
Let x be the time it takes for the older sibling to catch up to the younger sibling. At that moment, the younger sibling will have run 32 feet (head start) + 7x feet, and the older sibling will have run 11x feet.
Since they will meet at the same point, the distance traveled by both siblings will be the same:
32 + 7x = 11x
Subtracting 7x from both sides:
32 = 4x
Dividing by 4:
x = 8
So, it will take the older sibling 8 seconds to catch up to the younger sibling. At that moment, the older sibling will have run 11 * 8 = 88 feet.
