One example of a similar structure in plants and animals is the circulatory system. In plants, the circulatory system is made up of vascular tissues – xylem and phloem – that transport water, nutrients, and hormones throughout the plant. In animals, the circulatory system consists of the heart, blood vessels, and blood, which transport oxygen, nutrients, and waste products throughout the body.
Both systems have a similar function of transporting essential substances throughout the organism to support growth, metabolism, and overall functioning. Additionally, both systems rely on the circulation of fluids through a network of specialized vessels to accomplish this task.
