1. I feel confident in describing biodiversity because I have learned about the variety of living organisms and ecosystems on Earth, and how they interact with each other to maintain balance and health. By studying different aspects of biodiversity, such as species richness and genetic diversity, I have gained a better understanding of the importance of protecting our planet's natural resources.
2. It is challenging to explain how the elimination of a keystone species can affect an ecosystem's biodiversity because keystone species play a crucial role in maintaining the structure and function of an ecosystem. When a keystone species is removed, it can lead to cascading effects on other species and disrupt the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
3. One reason why it is important to understand why invasive species can be dangerous to an ecosystem's biodiversity is because invasive species can outcompete native species for resources, disrupt food chains, and alter habitats. By studying how invasive species impact ecosystems, we can work towards preventing their introduction and minimizing their negative effects on biodiversity.
4. In order to remember definitions of vocabulary words in this unit, one strategy I used was writing all of the vocabulary words down in a notebook and creating flashcards to quiz myself regularly. By reviewing the vocabulary words consistently and actively engaging with the definitions, I was able to reinforce my understanding and retention of the terms throughout the unit.
