Category 1 - Hurricane Florence (2018):
As an example of Category 1 hurricane, Hurricane Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina on September 14, 2018. At the time of landfall, it had maximum sustained winds of around 90 miles per hour (mph) (equivalent to 75 knots or 150 kilometers per hour). While it caused limited structural damage in some areas, it primarily caused extensive flooding, storm surge, and heavy rainfall across the Carolinas, resulting in widespread damage and over 50 fatalities.
