Since A and B are vertical angles, they have the same measure. Therefore, m A = m B.
Since B is a complimentary angle with C, m B + m C = 90°.
Substituting the value of m A (which is 22°) for m B in the second equation:
22° + m C = 90°
This is the equation that can be used to solve for m C.
