Since 24 is larger than 20, the fraction 3/4 is larger than 5/8.
Method 2: Converting to a common denominator
Step 1: The LCM of 4 and 8 is 8.
Step 2: Convert 3/4 to 6/8 by multiplying the numerator and denominator by 2.
Convert 5/8 to 5/8 (already in the required form).
Comparing the numerators, we see that 6 is larger than 5. Therefore, the fraction 3/4 is larger than 5/8.
