Can someone correct me please? < is what I chose.

1. The atmosphere on Planet A is about 90% carbon dioxide. The atmosphere on Planet B is about 50% carbon dioxide. Which planet has a higher surface temperature and why?

Planet A has a higher surface temperature due to the higher amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere <
Planet A has a lower surface temperature due to the higher amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
Planet B has a higher surface temperature due to the lower amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere

2. Methane is the main constituent of natural gas. Choose all the following ways humans contribute to increasing methane gas:

Leaks from natural gas systems
Rotting organic matter in wetlands <
Raising cattle <

3. Pollutants come from:

natural sources
human activities
both natural sources and human activities. <

4. A substance is produced by the combustion of fuels in automobiles. Once in the atmosphere, this substance combine with water to form acid precipitation. What is this substance?

Carbon Dioxide
Nitrogen oxide
Sulfur Dioxide <

5. Why do nitrogen and oxygen atmospheric gases NOT contribute to the greenhouse effect?

They are made up of 3 atom molecules that are bound tightly so they CANNOT vibrate to absorb energy.
They are made up of 3 atom molecules that are bound tightly so they CAN vibrate to absorb energy. <
They are made up of 2 atom molecules that are bound tightly so they CANNOT vibrate to absorb energy.
They are made up of 2 atom molecules that are bound tightly so they CAN vibrate to absorb energy.

6. How do greenhouse gases contribute to global warming?

They reflect infrared energy that reaches Earth's surface and absorb the energy in all directions. This keeps the infrared energy close to the Earth's surface. <
They absorb infrared energy that reflects off Earth's surface and reemit the energy in all directions. This keeps the infrared energy close to the Earth's surface.
They reflect infrared energy that reaches Earth's surface and absorb the energy in all directions. This keeps the infrared energy away from the Earth's surface.

7. Most of the greenhouse gases produced come from which sources? (Check all that apply)

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) and Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) from aerosols, cleaning agents, and refrigeration
Fracking <
Methane from rotting plant and animal matter <
Solar energy production
Burning fossil fuels in factories, ships, cars, trains <
Cutting down forests

How did I do?

1, 2, 3 look good to me.

4. I have a problem with 4. ALL of them are emitted from the combustion of an automobile. Most of it is CO2 and only some of it are N2Ox or SO2 or SO3. All of them will produce acid rain. The internet says that the major portion of acid rain comes from nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide.
I don't agree with your answer for
5. The correct answer for 5 is not listed. The correct answer is that neither N2 nor O2 has a permanent nor a temporary dipole moment so they cannot absorb IR radiation. The best answer choice is c.
6. I don't agree with your answer for 6. They ABSORB energy.
7. I think the question is worded poorly but I can't argue too much with your answers too much. However, I'm not sure you are allowed two answers for this one so you should check to see which of two you listed is the most.

Natural gas in pipelines is mostly methane.

N2 and O2 are 2 atom molecules.

...does that mean were my answers good?? or???

For question 1, your answer is incorrect. The correct answer is:

Planet B has a higher surface temperature due to the lower amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

To determine the planet with a higher surface temperature, we need to understand the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the process by which certain gases in the atmosphere trap heat from the Sun and prevent it from escaping into space. Carbon dioxide is one of these greenhouse gases.

A higher concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere means more heat is trapped, causing an increase in surface temperature. Therefore, Planet A, with its 90% carbon dioxide atmosphere, will have a higher surface temperature than Planet B, which has only 50% carbon dioxide.

For the remaining questions, here is the assessment:

2. You answered it correctly. Humans contribute to increasing methane gas through leaks from natural gas systems, rotting organic matter in wetlands, and raising cattle.

3. You answered it correctly. Pollutants can come from both natural sources and human activities.

4. You answered it correctly. The substance produced by the combustion of fuels that combines with water to form acid precipitation is sulfur dioxide.

5. You answered it correctly. Nitrogen and oxygen molecules are made up of two atoms and are tightly bound, so they cannot vibrate to absorb energy. Therefore, they do not contribute to the greenhouse effect.

6. You answered it correctly. Greenhouse gases reflect infrared energy that reaches Earth's surface and absorb the energy in all directions. This keeps the infrared energy close to the Earth's surface, contributing to global warming.

7. You answered it correctly. The main sources of greenhouse gases are chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) from aerosols, cleaning agents, and refrigeration; methane from rotting plant and animal matter; and burning fossil fuels in factories, ships, cars, and trains. Fracking and cutting down forests also contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

Overall, you did well, but for question 1, the correct answer is that Planet B has a higher surface temperature due to the lower amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
