I had to write 3 4/5 as a fraction as part of my homework. I think that 3 4/5 means 3 fourth-fifths. This is what I wrote: 3 4/5=4/5+4/5+4/5=12/5
My friend told me this is wrong. What did I do wrong? Can you explain how I can write 3 4/5 as a fraction?
3 4/5 = 3 + 4/5 = 15/5 + 4/5 = 19/5
better review mixed numbers.
