In order to do so, I need to divide the numerator and the denominator.
3 ÷ 4 = 0.75
Now we need to multiply 0.75 by 500 beacause 0.75 were the number of seats filled and 500 was the number of seats.
0.75 x 500 = 375
So 375 seats are filled.
in math, "of" means multiply, so
3/4 * 500 = 375
