In order to find the retail price, we must first find the amount of markup. Remember that a markup rate is a percentage of the wholesale price that a store adds to get a selling or retail price. markup rate times wholesale price equals the amount of markup. Since the markup rate is a percentage, we have to convert it into a decimal first. Since the markup rate is a percentage of the wholesale price that is added to get the retail price, we can find the retail price with the following equation: the amount of markup plus wholesale price equals retail price (Credits to Khan Academy)

At first, the wholesale price of the book shelf is $147.00 Now Gabriela's Furniture markup for all new furniture is 60% so we have to find the first 60% of $147.00 then we got $88.2 now we just have to add this amount to the wholesale price and we got our answer

To figure out how much to charge for the bookshelf, you need to calculate the markup price on the wholesale price. Here's how you can do it:
Step 1: Calculate the markup amount:
Multiply the wholesale price by the markup percentage to determine the markup amount.
Markup amount = Wholesale price * Markup percentage
In this case, the wholesale price is $147.00, and the markup percentage is 60%.
Markup amount = $147.00 * 0.60
Markup amount = $88.20
Step 2: Calculate the selling price:
Add the markup amount to the wholesale price to determine the selling price.
Selling price = Wholesale price + Markup amount
Selling price = $147.00 + $88.20
Selling price = $235.20
Therefore, the manger should charge $235.20 for the bookshelf.
