Find the value of this integer expression: − 2(+ 3 +− 4 +− 8 ++ 7) .

With Distribution and without Distribution.

with: (-2)(+3) + (-2)(-4) + ...

without: (-2)(3-4-8+7) = (-2)(-2) = 4

This whole portfolio is annoying, especially because it has 8 questions 0-0

ok so i ended up figuring it out. here's my work:

Calculation with Distribution:
(-2)(+3) + (-2)(-4)
(-2)(-8) + (-2)(7)=
-6 + 8 + 16 - 14=
4

With the second to last row of work, those are all the answers to the numbers in the parenthesis. With all of them added up, you get the answer of 4. I hope this helped you! Let me know if there's anything else that needs explaining cause don't worry, I was confused too. :P

-6+8+16-14=
4

And then this is without
-2(3+-4+-8+7)=
-2(-2)=

(-2)(3)+(-2)(-4)(-2)(-8)+(-2)(7)=
-6+8+16-14=
4

Without

Here is the answer for the one with distributive property:

-2 (3 + -4 + -8 + 7)

-2 (3) + -2 (-4) + -2 (-8) + -2 (7)

= 4

Remember, it doesn't matter if you use distributive property or not. Because it will be the same answer in the end.

I needed help on the one without distribution so hard I was crying. Thank you so much for your help. It cleared me brain. Now I can think like I do math. Not a person up at 10 pm.

at the end of the first one should be (-8)(+7). multiply all of the mini equations and then add them up i think.
