True / False:

If a 40 kg person is accelerating at 10 m/s^2,then the magnitude of the force acting on him or her is 400 N.

1.How much force is needed to make a 60 kg object accelerate at a rate or 2.0 m/s ^2?

2.What is the acceleration of a 30 kg objedct when 180 n of force is aplied to it?

3.Which of the following equation shows how you would solve for mass if you know the force acting on an object and the accleration of an object?
a~m=f/a
b~m=fa
C~m=a/f
d~m=f-a

thax emma your the best

You can apply Newton's Second Law, which is essentially Force = Mass x Acceleration.

For the first question, have a mass of 40kg and an acceleration of 10m/s^2, which means that the Force will be 400N.

1. Calculate force by multiplying mass by acceleration, so 60kg x 2.0m/s^2 which will result in a force of 120N.

2. You can rearrange the variables in the equation F=m*a as a=F/m. Take the force applied and divide it by the mass, so 180N / 30kg which is 6m/s^2.

3. If you know the force and acceleration of the object, you can rearrange the equation F=ma to m=F/a.

Thank you so much that helped me so much

omg i got a 100% tanks sooo much!!!!!

thanks emma!

If you just want the answer, then look at the 10 answer sheets posted already. However if you want to know why then here:

If a 100 kg person traveled at 5m/s^2 or meters per second squared there would be 500 newtons acting on that person, because F=M*A or Force equals mass times acceleration. Acceleration would be the speed, so the 5m/s^2 and mass would be 100 kg. This makes the equation F=100*5, making the answer 500=100*5.

Thanks Emma

wait up that is my name spelled exactly. makayla yeah.

Emma, mind your own business.

Guys, it's Tristan is right.
Also, remember for the future...it's just Force = to mass times acceleration. You can do it. xoxo

Btw, you guys should learn how to answer this stuff on your own. The next question I'm answering I'll say the answer wrong. Start studying, it will pay off, trust me
