How are a constitutional monarchy and a republic similar? How do they differ?
A: A constitutional monarchy and a republic are similar as they have constitutions. However, these two differ because a constitutional monarchy controls head of state, while a republic controls government.

What do you mean by "a republic controls the government?" Constitutional monarchies usually have elected legislators and prime ministers who control the government.

After reading this, I'm not sure what I meant, either. I'm just struggling to find the similaries and differences between constitutional monarchies and republics.

A constitutional monarchy has a king or queen who is the head of state. The prime minister is the head of government. A republic has a president who is both the head of state and the government leader.

A: A constitutional monarchy and a republic are similar as they have constitutions. However , these two differ as they are set up in different ways. For example, a constitutional monarchy has a king or queen who is the head of state, while a prime minister serves as the head of government. On the other hand, a republic has a president who is the head of state and the government leader. These forms of government also differ as they were each practiced in different countries (constitutional monarchy was practiced in Italy and Great Britain, whereas republician governments were established in France and the United States).
