"The Princess Bride" is a story about a young woman named Buttercup who falls in love with a farm boy named Westley. Westley leaves to seek his fortune in order to marry Buttercup, but he is reportedly killed by the Dread Pirate Roberts. Buttercup is then reluctantly engaged to Prince Humperdinck. As she is about to be married, Buttercup is kidnapped by a trio of outlaws – a Sicilian boss named Vizzini, a Spanish swordsman named Inigo Montoya, and a giant named Fezzik.
Throughout their adventures, Buttercup learns that Westley is alive and has taken on the role of the Dread Pirate Roberts. With the help of Inigo and Fezzik, Westley rescues Buttercup from Humperdinck's evil clutches and they manage to overcome many obstacles before finally being reunited and living happily ever after. The story is filled with humor, romance, and swashbuckling adventures.
