The trajectory of a ball thrown in the air is given by h(t)= −4t2+16t−10 , where h is the height in metres and t is the time in seconds. How long is the ball above 2 meters?

−4t^2+16t−10 > 2

-t^2+4t-3 > 0
-(t-1)(t-3) > 0
Since the parabola opens downward, the graph is above the t-axis between the roots
h(t) > 2 in the interval (1,3)
