What happens to iron sulphide when heated an what happens to iron when heated?

Nothing much.

I thought of another easy test for iron vs iron sulfide you can do.

Add hydrochloric acid. If it had iron sulfide, it will emit H2S, which stinks to high heaven.

If it is Fe, it will emit H2 gas, which does not stink.
