What are 3/8, 5/6, and 1/2 in order from least to greatest.

We want the denominators to be equal to find which is greatest and which is the least. Thus, we find the lcm or the least common denominator of 2,6, and 8. This happens to 24. Thus, we multiply 3/8 by 3/3 to get 9/24, we multiply 5/6 by 4/4 to get 20/24, and we multiply 1/2 by 12/12 to get 12/24. Thus which is the least, and which is the greatest?

Find the LCM of the denominators (list their multiples and find the first one they have in common)

LCM of 8,6,2 is 24
Next divide 24 by the denominators and multiply the numerators by that number.
24/8=3 3x3=9
24/6=4 5x4=20
24/2=12 1x12=12

This means that:
3/8 = 9/24
5/6 = 20/24
1/2 = 12/24

The answer is: 3/8, 1/2, 5/6

To order the given fractions from least to greatest, you need to compare their values. One way to compare fractions is to find a common denominator. Here's how you can determine the order of the fractions:

Step 1: Find a common denominator.
The common denominator for 8, 6, and 2 is 24. To convert the fractions to have the same denominator, multiply the numerator and denominator of each fraction by the necessary factor:

3/8 = (3 * 3) / (8 * 3) = 9/24
5/6 = (5 * 4) / (6 * 4) = 20/24
1/2 = (1 * 12) / (2 * 12) = 12/24

Now that all the fractions have a common denominator of 24, we can compare them.

Step 2: Compare the fractions.
Now, you can see that 9/24 is the smallest, followed by 12/24, and finally 20/24 is the largest.

Therefore, the correct order from least to greatest is: 9/24, 12/24, 20/24.

least to greast

3/8
5/6
1/2

I would just divide 3 by 8, 5 by 6 and 1 by 2. Then I would get all my percents and then I will put them from least to greatest by looking at the percents...

1/2 is .5 which is equal to 50%
3/8 is 0.375 which is rounded to 37%
5/6 is .833333 which we can say is 83%
Hope this helps :)
