An object turns without changing its speed. Which of the following is true?

a) No net force was necessarily acting on the object
b) A new force must have been acting on the object.
c) Both of the answers above are possible

I'm thinking that the answer is b) because of the law of inertia. But I'm not sure.

b.

First law of motion - All material objects will remain in rest or motion in a straight line unless compelled by an unbalanced force.
Its direction is changing = new force.
