Determine the speed of the boat with respect to the shore.

Despite, I did it like taking the sqrt (1.95^2+1.20^2)

    The boat has to head upstream, and that velocity is countered by the stream:

    v=sqrt(1.95^2-1.2^2)

    So the slant angle reduces the speed across.
