I don't think OCA 2016! is right bc someone on brainly put this exact same answer and a teacher replied with "thank you for putting the most incorrect answer ever so I can easily catch my students cheating" first of all wow & second of all idk what the answer to this question is & if someone would give the right answer, or even a remotely correct answer, it would help me & a lot of other people. This isn't cheating imo, being like "is the answer a, b, c, d" that's cheating. Asking for help or a point in even the remotely right direction on an essay question you are having trouble with is not cheating & for people to take advantage of other people & trying to "easily catch them cheating" is trash. Maybe it would be better if the students asked their parents or teachers for help, but some of our parents have jobs & aren't around all day to help us with English, especially when some of us are second generation immigrants and one of our parents can't speak English very well & definitely didn't learn about this in Mexico. I don't think they'll be much help. And for teachers or live lessons, my teacher does not go over specific test questions in live lessons nor will she help or give the answer on the phone. So thanks for nothing, I wish people would put the right answer to this question.

How would you like us to help you with this assignment?

Well the test is the same even after 3 years so here you go: Szymborska discussed death in terms of the civil war, where he saw much death of brothers, so it was very personal to him. This can be seen in the lines "My brother, you are now just a statistic. Dang." On the other hand, Milosz addressed it in the time he lived, which was during the space race--people did not need books and the Nazis burned all of the ones that stated U.S. landed on the moon. This is in the lines "Oh, space, space, your flames take up space, but are no more." This is how they both addressed death in their poems.-Hope it helps

To answer this question, we need to analyze the historical events and realities that influenced writers during the first half of the twentieth century. By examining the works of these writers, we can identify common threads and specific examples that demonstrate the impact of these events on their narratives.

1. Start by identifying the key historical events during this period. This could include World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the rise of totalitarian regimes, and social, political, and technological advancements.

2. Read the poems, short stories, and autobiographical pieces assigned during the semester. Pay attention to details that may reflect the influence of historical events on the authors.

3. Analyze the narrative elements, such as themes, plotlines, characterizations, and settings. Look for connections between these elements and the historical events of the time.

4. Identify specific examples from the texts that showcase the influence of historical events. These examples will help support your analysis.

Here's a possible response using three common threads found in the works of writers during the first half of the twentieth century:

1. Loss and disillusionment: Many writers during this period experienced the devastating consequences of World War I. They witnessed the destruction and loss of human life, leading to a sense of disillusionment and questioning of societal values. In T.S. Eliot's poem "The Waste Land," the fragmented narrative and references to a decaying society reflect the aftermath of the war.

2. Socioeconomic struggles: The Great Depression had a profound impact on writers, as they grappled with poverty, unemployment, and inequality. In John Steinbeck's novel "The Grapes of Wrath," the Joad family's journey and their hardships symbolize the struggles faced by many during the Depression era.

3. Political upheavals and totalitarian regimes: The rise of totalitarianism in Europe, notably fascism and communism, affected writers who explored themes of political oppression and resistance. George Orwell's novel "1984" presents a dystopian future under a totalitarian regime, highlighting themes of surveillance, propaganda, and the suppression of individual freedom.

By following these steps and incorporating specific examples from different texts, you can effectively demonstrate how historical events and realities influenced writers during the first half of the twentieth century, while also supporting your analysis and argument.
