I'm still doubting about the true/false activity you corrected yesterday.

I need to motivate my choice.

1) Lorenzo says: "I’m not very fond of French and English. I think learning foreign languages takes a lot of time and you have to revise too often. If you don’t, it’s very easy to forget what you have learn. Maths is okay –sometimes - I really like PE and my new geography teacher is great – she tells some good jokes – so our lessons are fun this year. I wish all my teachers were like her."

1) Lorenzo thinks that learning English is difficult: incorrect (he says it takes a lot of time.)
2) Lorenzo prefers geography lessons to English lessons. (he says that his geography teacher is great so he likes his lessons: correct??)

Sentence 3 = what you have learned.

Rather than Maths (it sounds plural), Math is better as the singular.

1 and 2 are correct, BUT English IS hard to learn!

Sra (aka Mme)

To motivate your choice for question 1) Lorenzo thinks that learning English is difficult, you can use the following explanation:

In the given text, Lorenzo says, "I’m not very fond of French and English. I think learning foreign languages takes a lot of time and you have to revise too often. If you don’t, it’s very easy to forget what you have learned." Based on this statement, we can understand that Lorenzo believes learning foreign languages, including English, is time-consuming and requires frequent revision. This implies that Lorenzo finds English difficult or challenging. Therefore, the correct choice would be "incorrect" for this statement.

For question 2) Lorenzo prefers geography lessons to English lessons, you can justify your answer as follows:

In the given text, Lorenzo mentions that his geography teacher is great and that their lessons are fun because she tells good jokes. From this statement, we can infer that Lorenzo enjoys his geography lessons. However, there is no direct comparison made between geography and English lessons to conclude that Lorenzo prefers geography over English. Therefore, the correct choice would be "incorrect" for this statement as well.
