Please advise if I did this problem correctly

Solve the proportion 32/X = 2/3.
32/X = 2/3
32 divided by 2 = 16
11 x 3 = 33
16/33
16 x 2 = 32
33 x 1 = 33

  1. x does not = 33

    To solve a proportion, you need to cross multiply and solve for the unknown.

    32/x = 2/3

    2x = 96
    x = 96/2
    x = 48

    Doesn't that make sense? 32/48 = 2/3
