Hi, this question was posted by liverpool I see but has not been responded to after 2nd entry each time. What happens when a candle is alight. Having to show chemical/physical change. The question is 'Explained both changes using the Big Idea of Energy'? Can someone explain what the Big Idea of Energy is as I have never heard of it. Please.

what is a chemical property

To be perfectly honest about it, I had never heard of "The Big Idea of Energy" until the post by Liverpool and that may be why there were no responses;i.e., other tutors had not heard of it either. However, I went to www.google.com, typed in "big idea energy" without the quotation marks and found many many hits. The first several dealt with Einstein's E=mc2 equation with later ones dealing with the economy, big ideas about saving energy, big ideas about using nanotechnology, names of salons, names of rock groups, names of places to eat, etc. In the context of the original question, I assume Einstein's equation is the proper one on which to focus. The two links below should prove beneficial in that regard.
