dividing fractions....how do i solve this...

4/9 divided by 2/3=

or

9/10 divided by 9/10=

One thing I do remember is how to divide fractions!

4/9 divided by 2/3 = 4/9 multiplied by 3/2
Then once you've multiplied across, reduce the resulting fraction if you can.

So how will you re-state the second problem?

=)

Multiplying fraction is the inverse operation of division, so watch this:

4/9 divided by 2/3 is the same as....

4/9 multiplied by 3/2

or 12/18 (needs to be reduced.

7/11 divided by 7/22

Invert the second fraction and multiply across -- what do you get?

??

i need help with my algebra

hi i need help on this math problem:

how many liters of water must be added to 8 liters of a 40% acid solution to obtain a 10% acid solution?

Hi, I am a first year teacher and had problems figuring this out myself until I found great examples at PurpleMath - Lessons and go to the botttom and select Solving word problems - mixtures!!!

how do i do solving equation with variables on each side of the equal sign

I need help on this question: If you add two arithmetic sequences, do you always get an arithmetic sequence?

4 5/8

i need help with factoring

2+3[4_5

To solve a division problem with fractions, you can follow these steps:

1. Take the reciprocal of the second fraction (the divisor). This means swapping the numerator and denominator.
2. Multiply the first fraction (the dividend) by the reciprocal of the second fraction.
3. Multiply the numerators together and the denominators together.
4. Simplify the resulting fraction, if possible, by reducing it to lowest terms.

Let's apply this method to your first problem: 4/9 divided by 2/3.

1. Take the reciprocal of 2/3, which is 3/2.
2. Multiply 4/9 by 3/2.
3. Multiply the numerators (4 * 3 = 12) and the denominators (9 * 2 = 18).
4. The resulting fraction is 12/18, which can be simplified by dividing both the numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor, which is 6. Therefore, the simplified answer is 2/3.

For the second problem: 9/10 divided by 9/10.

1. Take the reciprocal of 9/10, which is 10/9.
2. Multiply 9/10 by 10/9.
3. Multiply the numerators (9 * 10 = 90) and the denominators (10 * 9 = 90).
4. The resulting fraction is 90/90, which is equal to 1.

So, the solution to the second problem is 1.

Remember to always check your answers and simplify the fractions when possible.
