Thank you for checking my answers!

I disagree with your answer to # 1. An anecdotal record's purpose is not to write down "everything a child says or does." This site explains anecdotal records, but it emphasizes that these notes are brief descriptions of a few moments in a child's day.

Your other answers are correct. :-)

Doesn't anecdotal records also tell
you (B)how long a behavior lasts?

I am kind of confused on question 1 because I am thinking B or D could both
be an appropriate answer. Which would be the best?

Anecdotal records may tell how long a behavior has been observed. However, my choice for this number 1 is D -- because these notes are brief and easy to write. The observer jots a few words down at the time of the observation, rather than waiting perhaps hours to type this information.

D. brief notes are easier and quicker to write is the best answer for question 1, as anecdotal records are meant to be brief descriptions of specific moments or events, not detailed accounts of everything a child does or how long a behavior lasts.

To gather information about a child's development, anecdotal records are often used because they are brief and easy to write, making it quick and efficient to document observations in real-time. These records do not necessarily include writing down everything a child says or does, but rather provide concise notes about specific moments or behaviors observed. The purpose of anecdotal records is not to explain the reasons for a child's behavior or to determine how long a behavior lasts, but rather to provide a snapshot of their development at a specific point in time. Therefore, option D, "brief notes are easier and quicker to write," is the most appropriate answer for question 1.

You are correct in saying that anecdotal records may provide information about how long a behavior lasts. However, the best answer for question 1 would be D, which is "brief notes are easier and quicker to write." Anecdotal records are meant to capture brief moments in a child's behavior or development, so it is important for the notes to be concise and easy to write in order for the observer to accurately record their observations in a timely manner. Writing down everything a child says or does would be impractical and not necessary for the purpose of anecdotal records.
