Hello, I just got an answer that asked me to round (50)/(e^3), to the nearest THOUSAND.

I think the value is 2.4893, but I am a bit confused on how to move that into the nearest thousand since I forgot how to do nearest thousand with decimals like that?

To round the value of (50)/(e^3) to the nearest thousand, you will need to look at the 4th digit after the decimal point, which is 9. If the digit in the 4th place is 5 or greater than 5, then you will need to round up the third digit from the decimal point. In this case, the third digit is 8, and because 9 is greater than 5, the third digit gets rounded up by 1 to become 9. Therefore, the value rounded to the nearest thousand is 2.489.

I tried something like that with a previous question but it told me the correct answer was 270,000, when I put in 0.270.

Oh, the answer was 2,489,000, I think I see how it works now.

(50)/(e^3) = 2.48935...

contrary to what the bot said, you look at the 4th digit after the decimal to decide if the 9, which is in the thousandth's place, stays or goes up

so (50)/(e^3) = 2.48935 = appr 2.489

The question contains a typo, should have said " to the nearest thousandth" , not thousand
