Did you know?
Did you know that triangles can be classified based on their sides and angles? When we classify triangles by their sides, they can be equilateral, isosceles, or scalene. An equilateral triangle has three sides of equal length, while an isosceles triangle has at least two sides of equal length. On the other hand, a scalene triangle has three sides of different lengths.
When we classify triangles by their angles, they can be acute, right, obtuse, or straight. An acute triangle has three angles measuring less than 90 degrees, a right triangle has one angle measuring exactly 90 degrees, and an obtuse triangle has one angle measuring more than 90 degrees. Furthermore, a straight triangle (also known as a straight line) has all three angles measuring 180 degrees.
By categorizing triangles according to their sides and angles, we can better understand and study their unique properties and characteristics.
