Modeling Data with Lines Quiz

1.B - blue, because the data points are all close to the line
2.C - about 8
3.B - 17 weeks
4.C - The trend line describes the pattern in the data if one exists.
5.C - box-and-whisker plot 13, 19, 23, 26, 27
6.A - about 11
7.A - The population is decreasing over time.

Use my answers to reflect on yours. (these are the correct answers to Unit 3 Lesson 8 Algebra )

1 : B
2 : C
3 : B
4 : C
5 : C
6 : A
7 : short question (your own answer)

These were correct for me except the answer to 6 was the answer to 7 and the answer they put for 6 didn't go to anything, also I'm not sure yet the short answer for number 7 but I put that it's a positive trend.

btw guys when they say dont copy and paste they mean it. its for your own good. ive made that mistake before. turns out they actually can see if you did or not.

question 5 is B (425)

@nobody is right except Q:5

For the essay question (which should be question 8, if it is not then I more than likely have the wrong answer for you) put something along the lines of "The trend for the scatter plot will be positive. This is because as x increases, y increases." DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT copy and paste this.

Your welcome
Me, I think

He’s right nobody the person is right

or if you do copy switch your words around or delete some punctuation to make it look authentic.

To determine which line models the data points better, we need to evaluate the characteristics and properties of the given options.

A: The length of a line is not a determining factor for how well it models the data points. Therefore, we can eliminate this option as length alone does not indicate accuracy.

B: In this option, it is stated that all the data points are close to the blue line. If the data points are indeed clustered closely around the line, this would suggest a strong correlation, indicating that the line is a good fit for the data. Therefore, this option is a potential correct choice.

C: This option suggests that the red line goes through one of the data points. If the red line passes through a single data point, it does not necessarily mean that it models the rest of the data effectively. Therefore, we can eliminate this option as one single point does not determine the overall trend.

D: This option claims that there are three points above the line and three points below the line. However, just having an equal number of points above and below the line does not guarantee that the line models the data effectively. This option does not provide sufficient evidence to support its claim.

Based on the given options, option B seems to be the best choice. It states that the data points are closely clustered around the blue line, indicating a strong correlation and a better fit for the data.

i think 6 and 7 were mixed around
