  4. The vertices of a triangle are P(4, 1), Q(2, –8), and R(–8, 1). What are the vertices of the image reflected across the y-axis?
    A. P'(4, –1), Q'(2, 8), and R'(–8, –1)
    B. P'(–4, 1), Q'(–2, –8), and R'(8, 1)
    C. P'(–4, –1), Q'(–2, 8), and R'(8, –1)
    D. P'(4, 1), Q'(2, –8), and R'(–8, 1)

  5. I much prefer the 2nd one.
did you try actually reflecting each vertex across the y-axis?
If so, you can easily see that (x,y)→(-x,y)
so just change the sign of the x-coordinate for each point.
    So, knowing that (4,1)→(-4,1)
that leaves only B as a choice.
