I'm trying to cut down on how many cupcakes I buy. Two weeks ago I boought 8 cupcakes and then last week i bought 5. PLease help me continue this pattern

I need this quickly!

two points don't make much of a pattern. But you could continue either to

(a) subtract 3
(b) multiply by 5/8

i did this i'm trying to learn math, i know most of the stuff but this confused me

i mean I need this

To continue the pattern of buying fewer cupcakes each week, you can follow these steps:

1. Determine the difference between the number of cupcakes you bought in the first week and the number you bought in the second week. In this case, the difference is 8 - 5 = 3 cupcakes.
2. Subtract this difference from the number of cupcakes you bought last week to find the number to buy this week. So, if you bought 5 cupcakes last week and the difference is 3 cupcakes, you should buy 5 - 3 = 2 cupcakes this week.
3. Repeat this process for subsequent weeks to continue the pattern of buying fewer cupcakes each time.

For example, if you continue this pattern:
- Two weeks ago: 8 cupcakes
- Last week: 5 cupcakes
- This week (based on the difference of 3 cupcakes): 5 - 3 = 2 cupcakes
- Next week (based on the difference of 3 cupcakes): 2 - 3 = -1 cupcakes (You may consider not buying any cupcakes if you cannot buy a negative number of them)

So, if you follow this pattern, you should buy 2 cupcakes this week and adjust accordingly for subsequent weeks.
