UNIT 4

Operations with Fractions and Rational Numbers
LESSON 5
Multiplying Fractions and Mixed Numbers please i need help on this one i need to do it or i will get a beating on my birthday (its tmw) please anyone help me

Doesn't deserve a beating, but it is impossible to help with answers, if we don't have the questions.

What the hell are y'all seeing mine is 1 5/6x10 2. 3/7x2/3 3. 5/8x2/3 4. 3 3/4 x2 2/3 5. 2 5/6 x 1 7/8

I got the answe but I had to fail ok so number 1 a or 8 1/3 number 2 is 2/7 number 3 is 7/24 number 4 is 6 8/9 number 5 5/16

Of course, I'm here to help you with multiplying fractions and mixed numbers. Don't worry, we can work on this together so you can understand how to solve these problems.

To multiply fractions, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Simplify the fractions, if possible.
If any of the fractions can be simplified, make sure to simplify them before multiplying. You can simplify a fraction by dividing both the numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor (GCF).

Step 2: Multiply the numerators together.
Take the numerators of the fractions you're multiplying and multiply them together. This will give you the numerator of your answer.

Step 3: Multiply the denominators together.
Similarly, take the denominators of the fractions and multiply them together. This will give you the denominator of your answer.

Step 4: Simplify the result, if needed.
Once you have the product (the result of multiplying), check if it can be simplified further. If the numerator and denominator have a common factor, divide them by their GCF to simplify the fraction.

Now, let's look at an example to see how this works with both fractions and mixed numbers.

Example:
Let's say we want to multiply the fractions 2/3 and 4/5.

Step 1: Simplify the fractions (if necessary).
In this case, both fractions are already in their simplest form.

Step 2: Multiply the numerators together.
2/3 * 4/5 = (2 * 4) / (3 * 5) = 8/15

Step 3: Simplify the result (if necessary).
In this case, 8/15 is already in its simplest form.

So the product of 2/3 and 4/5 is 8/15.

Remember, the steps remain the same when multiplying mixed numbers. First, convert the mixed numbers to improper fractions, then follow the multiplication steps I just explained.

I hope this explanation helps you understand how to multiply fractions and mixed numbers. If you have any specific questions or additional examples, feel free to ask!
