  1. 1. Compare hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic solutions. When an environment is hypotonic, what happens to the cell?
The cell has more solute, so solvent moves from outside the cell to inside, causing the cell to swell.

    2. Which process is shown in the image?
    endocytosis

    3. For what kind of external environment is a saltwater fish adapted?
    hypertonic environment

    4. Compare plant and animal cells. Which type of cell has a cell wall?
    plant cell

    5. Which biological molecules do tRNA carry?
    amino acids

    6. Which of the following best describes the function of the ribosomes in eukaryotic cells?
decodes the sequence of bases on the mRNA and then creates specific proteins

    7. What is the unique function of central vacuoles in a plant cell?
    they store water

    8. Which type of cells have a high concentration of mitochondria?
    heart cells

    9. Plants prefer hypotonic environments because
the excess water that enters the cell allows the central vacuole to maintain turgor pressure.

    10. The nervous system is responsible for
receiving and processing stimuli from the body.

    11. Which is the function of the esophagus?
connect the mouth with the stomach

    12. Summarize the functions of the nervous system.
The nervous system controls the digestive system by sending signals to the stomach, telling it to digest food.

    13. Which animal is often used to model human body systems?
    pig

    14. Compare types of models. Which model best illustrates the formation of blood cells?
    computer-generated model

  9. Wouldn’t it be isotonic? Or else the fish would be constantly swelled up or shriveled cause of to much water gain or water loss?

  10. Animal cells, which lack a rigid cell wall, tend to prefer isotonic environments. When placed in hypotonic environments, they tend to take on too much water, which may cause them to burst or lyse. When placed in hypertonic environments, they tend to lose too much water and shrivel. Plant cells, which have a rigid cell wall, tend to prefer hypotonic environments. The excess water allows them to have turgor pressure. When placed in isotonic environments, plant cells do not have enough water to maintain turgor pressure and they wilt. When placed in hypertonic environments, plant cells lose too much water, causing the cell membrane to detach from the cell wall. This process, known as plasmolysis, is lethal to the plant cell.

So it's Isotonic soooo L was right 😐
Not so hard In my opinion 🤷‍♀️🤫🥱
