90 students were surveyed about their favorite subject in school between math and social studies. How many students chose only math as their favorite subject? (3 points)

idk what to do for this question. i need help asap!!!! plz and ty

Is there anything that shows the results of the survey? Like a chart/graph or something? It's got to have something like that.

It was 38 because I added it up and it equal 90. What I did is I added up the numbers in the circle (32 and 20) and it equaled to 52. I then add 39 but that equaled 91, so I tried again but this time I added 38 and it equaled 90 so therefore it would be 38 students.

It said: 90 students were surveyed about their favorite subject in school between math and social studies. How many students chose only math as their favorite subject? (3 points).

The chart is: (Social Studies: 32) (20) (Math:)
I tried my best to do the two circles surrounding them.

I was guessing 38 but if that's wrong I'm sorry.

To find out how many students chose only math as their favorite subject, you need some additional information. Specifically, you need to know how many students chose both math and social studies as their favorite subjects. Once you have that information, you can subtract it from the total number of students who chose math as their favorite subject.

Let's break it down step by step:

Step 1: Identify the given information:
- Total number of students surveyed: 90

Step 2: Determine the number of students who chose both math and social studies:
Unfortunately, the information about how many students chose both math and social studies is not provided in the question. If you have that information, let's say it's 'X' students, you can move on to Step 3. Otherwise, let's proceed with the assumption that no students chose both subjects.

Step 3: Calculate the number of students who chose only math:
To find the number of students who chose only math, subtract the number of students who chose both subjects (X, if available) from the total number of students who chose math.

Number of students who chose math only = Total number of students who chose math - Number of students who chose both math and social studies

If the number of students who chose both subjects is not given, you can assume it to be zero.

Therefore, Number of students who chose math only = Total number of students who chose math - 0 (if no students chose both subjects)

Please provide the number of students who chose both math and social studies, or if you don't have that information, let me know so that I can help you further.
