I'm doing a portfolio in math rn and i need help, fast please. Lesson 11: Solving Inequalities by Multiplying or Dividing. Grade: 7

Versatile Distributive Property Portfolio
Directions: Your family is having a day without technology. No calculators, cell
phones, or computers are allowed. You have a math assignment to finish, so it’s
time to put the computation properties you have learned to good use. This is your
chance to see how versatile the Distributive Property is and how it can make your
life easier!
Thanks to the Distributive Property, there are two different ways of computing
3(4 5 6) + + :
-Calculation with Distribution:-
3(4 + 5 + 6) =
3 × 4 + 3 × 5 + 3 × 6 =
12 + 15 + 18 =
45
-Calculation without Distribution-
3(4 + 5 + 6) =
3(15) =
45
You will get the same answer regardless of which method you use.
In each of the following situations, show all steps for both ways of calculating with
the Distributive Property. In some cases, you will find it easier to distribute the
multiplication over each of the addends before adding. In the other cases, you may
think it helps to not distribute and to add the numbers before multiplying.
Remember, showing your work is an important part of this portfolio.
Vote for which way you think is more efficient and explain why.

listen im a person who likes to cheat ill be honest lmao. But then i realize like how f-ed up 2051 is gonna be.

Geeze why dont people answer any of our questions??? It's like we're just asking so that other kids will have the answer in the far away future😭😭

With distribution
12(12+12)=
144+144=
288

Without distribution
12(12+12)=
12(24)=
288

That was the third
the first....
W dist
0.2 (2.50 + 4.95 + 6.00) =
0.2 * 2.50 + 0.2 * 4.95 + 0.2 * 6.00 =
1.345 + 1.345 =
2.69

W/o dist
0.2 (2.50 + 4.95 + 6.00)=
0.2 (13.45)=
2.69

The second
W dist
.06 (2.50 + 8.75 + 3.00 + 10.25)=
.06 * 2.50 + 06 * 8.75 + 06 * 3.00 + 06 * 10.25 =
0.735 + 0.735=
1.47

W/o dist
.06 (2.50 + 8.75 + 3.00 + 10.25) =
.06 (24.50)=
1.47

Hope this helps that's as far as I've reached sorry

with Distribution 24.50+8.75+3.00+10.25=24.50

24.50*1.06=25.97
25.97-24.50=1.47
without Distribution
.06+(2.60)+.06(8.25)+.06(3.00)+.06(10.25)
=24.50 then subtract 25.97-24.50=1.47

idk wut to put for the third one sorry guys

PLZ PLZ JUST TELL ME THE ANSWERS!

To solve the problems using the Distributive Property, you will multiply the number outside the parentheses by each number inside the parentheses and then perform any additional operations (such as addition or subtraction) if necessary. Here's how you can solve each problem:

1. Shopping Discounts:
- Calculation with Distribution:
First, calculate the discounted price for each book:
20% off $2.50 = $2.50 - (20/100) * $2.50
20% off $4.95 = $4.95 - (20/100) * $4.95
20% off $6.00 = $6.00 - (20/100) * $6.00

After getting the discounted prices, add them up:
($2.50 - (20/100) * $2.50) + ($4.95 - (20/100) * $4.95) + ($6.00 - (20/100) * $6.00)

- Calculation without Distribution:
Simply multiply the original prices by 20% off:
($2.50 * (1 - 20/100)) + ($4.95 * (1 - 20/100)) + ($6.00 * (1 - 20/100))

Which method do you think is more efficient for this problem?

2. Shopping: Tax:
- Calculation with Distribution:
Multiply each item's price by the tax rate (6%) and add the results:
($2.50 * (1 + 6/100)) + ($8.75 * (1 + 6/100)) + ($3.00 * (1 + 6/100)) + ($10.25 * (1 + 6/100))

- Calculation without Distribution:
Add up the item prices first, and then multiply the total by the tax rate (6%):
(($2.50 + $8.75 + $3.00 + $10.25) * (1 + 6/100))

Which method do you think is more efficient for this problem?

3. Mental Math:
- Calculation with Distribution:
Multiply 24 hours by 12 months:
24 * 12

- Calculation without Distribution:
Use the Distributive Property to simplify mentally:
24 * (10 + 2) = (24 * 10) + (24 * 2)

Which method do you think is more efficient for this problem?

4. Multiplying by a Negative Number:
- Calculation with Distribution:
Multiply -2 by each number inside the parentheses and perform operations:
-2 * (+3) + (-2) * (-4) + (-2) * (-8) + (-2) * (+7)

- Calculation without Distribution:
Use the Distributive Property to simplify:
-2 * [(+3) + (-4) + (-8) + (+7)]

Which method do you think is more efficient for this problem?

5. Multiplying and Adding Fractions:
- Calculation with Distribution:
Multiply 6 by each fraction inside the parentheses and perform operations:
6 * (1/2) + 6 * (2/3) + 6 * (3/4)

- Calculation without Distribution:
Use the Distributive Property to simplify:
6 * [(1/2) + (2/3) + (3/4)]

Which method do you think is more efficient for this problem?

6. Geometry Formulas:
- Calculation with Distribution:
Multiply the length by 2, multiply the width by 2, and add the results:
(13 * 2) + (7 * 2)

- Calculation without Distribution:
Use the Distributive Property to simplify:
13 * 2 + 7 * 2

Which method do you think is more efficient for this problem?

For the original example, create a situation where you can apply the Distributive Property, and then follow the step-by-step calculations as shown above.

Remember to show all steps and provide explanations for which method you think is more efficient and why. Good luck with your portfolio!
