Write the rules for determining the sign of the product when multiplying integers. Then, write the rules for determining the sign of the quotient when dividing integers. Use your own words and use complete sentences. Make sure you answer both questions presented in this problem.

product and quotient follow the same rules:

same sign: positive
different signs: negative

Here are the test answers:

1. C 106
2. A -11
3. D 15
4. B -8 degrees
5. D 24
6. C 9
7. B -9
8. C -6
9. product and quotient follow the same rules:
same sign: positive
different signs: negative

When multiplying two negative factors the product is positive . When multiplying a positive and the negative the product is always a negative even if vice versa. If the two factors are both positive the product is positive.

If the dividend and divisor are both positive the quotient is positive. Just like multiplying two negatives, this is the same dividing the divisor from the dividend the quotient is positive. When dividing one negative and another positive the quotient is negative this can be done vice versa too.
