Find the circumference of the circle. Use 3.14 for π. Round to the nearest unit.

(Show picture of circle with a diameter, with 21cm at one side)
A) 24cm
B) 66CM
C) 125cm
D) 69cm

Please help me understand, that means don't tell me the answer without explaining it!

Thanks

Thank you for helping me understand it, Ms. Sue, and Oobleck!

just remember your formula for the circumference of a circle of diameter d:

C = πd

π is defined as the ratio of the circumference to the diameter: π = C/d

Sooo Sorry if I am getting this wrong,

is it 21 * 3.14?

Which is 65.94..... this rounded to the nearest unit will be 69 cm or 66 cm. I think it is 66 cm. Right?

Yes, 66 cm.

thx ms. sue and oobleck!!

The circumference is the distance around a circle.

To find the circumference, use this formula.

C = pi * diameter

Yes; 21 * 3.14

You are welcome.

Thanks mrs.sue I understand now
