Note: Enter your answer and show all the steps that you use to solve this problem in the space provided. f ( x ) = 9 x 3 + 2 x 2 − 5 x + 4 and g ( x ) = 5 x 3 − 7 x + 4 . what is f ( x ) − g ( x ) ? Show all of your steps and write your final answer in factored form.

Please help me out! It would mean a lot :D

haha @bobpursley I just realized it did it wrong. I'll fix it.

f(x) = 9x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x +4
g(x)= 5x^3 - 7x +4

What is f(x)-g(x)?

@Mrs.Sue can you help me out?

f (x) - g (x) = 9 x³ + 2 x² - 5 x + 4 - ( 5 x³ - 7 x + 4 ) =

9 x³ + 2 x² - 5 x + 4 - 5 x³ + 7 x - 4 =

9 x³ - 5 x³ + 2 x² - 5 x + 7 x + 4 - 4 =

4 x³ + 2 x² + 2 x =

2 x ∙ ( 2 x² + x + 1 )

f ( x ) = 9 x 3 + 2 x 2 − 5 x + 4=27+4-5x+4 =35-5x

g(x) = 5 x 3 − 7 x + 4 = 15-7x+4=19-7x
those assume the x+4 at the end of each is not a factor (x+4). You did not use parenthesis.
f(x)-g(x)= 35-5x-19+7x=16+2x
This is so easy, wondering if you typed is correctly. Check.

So f(x) - g(x) would simply be

9x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x +4 - (5x^3 - 7x +4)
= 4x^3 + 2x^2 + 2x

This can be factored, but it was asked for.

dont tell people to shut up anonymous

i need answers im gonna fail

There are also no parenthesis.

and this is why people are failing cause nobody is giving good answers
