Explain what is meant by “Manifest Destiny” and describe how belief in that idea was a main reason for the United States going to war with Mexico.

I don't really understand this question. can someone explain what it's asking and help me answer it please?

the 19th-century doctrine or belief that the expansion of the US throughout the American continents was both justified and inevitable. The benefits of the annexation of Texas were the us had a definite border between Mexico and they gained a huge land the benefits for Texas were they lost their debt and got military aid Texas was apart of Mexico until they gained independence in 1845 they were the republic of Texas for 16 years later to join the us things were fine until Slavery Was abolished (this is what I know I’m having a hard time putting in a short response please help)

I'm guessing the initial question was for Unit 4 Lesson 15 for connexus users, so why did you put those 5 question answers?

Do you have a good definition for "Manifest Destiny"? If not, google the term and make sure you fully understand it. Then think about who "owned" Texas at different times in fairly recent history (1700s onward), and let us know what you decide.

Was it Mexico? I'm gonna go with Mexico.
