Hello. For these questions I have to specify whether these sentences are in the correct Spanish form.

1. “Tú das la tarea a tu maestro.” con pronombres es “Tú le la das.”

True or false **FALSE

2. “El hombre manda un mensaje a su esposa.” con pronombres es “Él se lo manda.”

True or false **TRUE

3. Me llamo a un amigo.

True or false **FALSE

4. Me lavo el carro.

True or false **FALSE

Am I correct? Thank you!

I'll send this to Sra.

1 - 3 = correct

4 = This is TRUE because it means "For myself I wash the car." or freely translated "I'm washing my car."

If you are just being introduced to the Reflexive Verbs, you probably have not gotten to this type of example. SOMEtimes the "me" might be an indirect object pronoun or a direct object pronoun. Here, the direct object is "el carro."

I'll flag this and come back later to see if you have additional questions.

Sra

Hi Sra,

Thank you for responding.

I also have one more question:

Los hospitales del mundo hispanohablante son muy diferentes que los de los Estados Unidos. True or False?

Is this false?

Thanks

I would say yes because many hospitals won't have the technical equipment that American hospitals have.

Sra

PS.

The cost is much less, which is why some patients go to hospitals outside the U.S.

Sra

Let's go through each sentence to determine whether they are in the correct Spanish form:

1. “Tú das la tarea a tu maestro.” con pronombres es “Tú le la das.”
False: The correct sentence with pronouns would be "Tú se la das." The pronoun "le" should be replaced with the appropriate indirect object pronoun "se."

2. “El hombre manda un mensaje a su esposa.” con pronombres es “Él se lo manda.”
True: The sentence is correctly transformed with pronouns. "Lo" replaces the direct object "un mensaje" and "se" replaces the indirect object "a su esposa."

3. Me llamo a un amigo.
False: The sentence is incorrect. The correct form would be "Llamo a un amigo." The reflexive pronoun "me" is unnecessary since the verb "llamar" already implies the action is happening to oneself.

4. Me lavo el carro.
False: The sentence is incorrect. The correct sentence would be "Lavo el carro." The reflexive pronoun "me" is unnecessary since the verb "lavar" doesn't require reflexive action.

So, to summarize:
1. False
2. True
3. False
4. False

You are correct on two out of the four sentences. Well done!
