how do i figuire this problem out?

..

A deep-sea diver must descend and ascend in short steps to equalize pressure on his body. If the diver rises toward the surface too fast, he may suffer from a physical condition called “the bends.” Suppose the diver started at 82 feet below the surface and rose in five steps of 15 feet each. Use an integer to describe his new position in relation to the water surface.

15x5=75

82-75=7
Answer~7

The problem starts out saying the the deep sea diver starts at 82 feet below surface.... -82

Rose15 feet each time, five times.... +5(15)

s stands for surface

-82+5(15)=s
-82+75=s
-7=s

The diver would have to dive 7 more feet on the 6th step to reach surface.

I hope it helped!

82 - 5(15) = 82 - 75 = 7

Thanks guys

Too much nonsense on this page lol

thorn thorn you are the bomb thx thx thx

I'm sure the majority of people over here are in Mrs. Keegan's class. However All tests are different so if y'all keep saying "A A B" and stuff it may not work because not all tests answers are in the same order. Just letting everyone know

How is it negative 7

we did this promblem in mrs.keegan's class

Yeah, thanks for the answer, but I have one question. Is that 7 positive or negative?
